Channel Plus DA-520A 20 dB Bidirectional Cable Amplifier Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased the Channel Plus DA-520A 20dB signal booster in order to boost my cable signal due to significant (-19dBmV @ 700MHz) attenuation caused by a 6-way splitter at the ingress junction point of my house.
I found that this booster performs exactly as advertised. It brought my signal up to right around 0dBmV - the perfect level. However, I found that it also appeared to introduce a significant amount of noise; some RF-sensitive equipment I had in the vicinity of the device started showing signs of interference. I also found that my SNR dropped by 4dB (from 34dB to 30dB) when comparing the signal against a competing 15dB device. I am not certain whether this may have been due to my overdriving the line at the lower frequencies, but if so, an adjustable gain control would have been a handy and eminently useful addition.
So, in a nutshell, this device does exactly what it's supposed to: it boosts the input signal (and perhaps the input noise too). However, I found the device to emit more RF noise than a comparable 15dB booster, both on the wire and off it.

(More customer reviews)My main issue with the cable is that it is not a professional grad cable as described. I am compareing it to the original cable that came with my 8330. This cable is much thinner and rather fragil. I wouldn't call it professional grade. The seller makes the clame that it outperforms the original...don't think so! This would not be an issue if the expectation had not be made because for the price it is a very good option; it comes well packaged. If you are looking for an inexpensive solution, this is a good option.

(More customer reviews)I used it to answer voice calls. It missed a few calls and missed callerid info occassionally so I replaced it with a serial port version.
It does work though, just not as well as the serial modem.

Zonet KVM3004 4-Port Switch ( KVM3004 ) Review

(More customer reviews)It is the easiest to use 4-port KVM I have found.
The older version uses standard cables and comes with all the cables.
The newer version comes with proprietary cables so it is a small db connector on one end and vga/kbd/mouse on the other for the computer ports.
I have both and like the old one better in case a cable fails or I need to re-deploy the parts for a project.

(More customer reviews)If you live in the sticks this is a must. I live outside a small town and my connectivity was lousy. I was only pulling 26,400 bps and now, after installing this and going into modem properties in control panel and adjusting the port settings to minimum, I'm pulling 45,333 bps. It's fairly easy to install (did it myself) and if you have Win98 the driver's already there-- the computer installed the software itself, basically. I have to say it again: from 26,400 to 45,333 bytes per second!
