1.Allows you to move all the cables to the back - this is especially convenient for the nx9420. HP nx9420's audio ports are placed on the lower part of the right side and the USB and FireWire ports are in the middle of the left side. So, without the dock, I used to have a lot of cable "spaghetti" that used to get in the way and was irritating. Not anymore!
2.Provides a lot of connectivity options.
3.Solidly built and looks nice.
4.Allows you to lock the laptop with the optional Kensington lock.
Bad:
The power brick is not included and your laptop's one may or may not fit!
I needed to move it a little back and forth to properly lock my nx9420 in place first time. Not a real problem though.
