(More customer reviews)This works beautifully and so much cheaper than my laptop manufactures (HP)docking station. I can do everything I wanted from a docking station "except" charge my laptop battery. I have hooked up a huge monitor, wireless keyboard, mouse & usb speakers (can hook up a printer also, I just have no need) and was HALF the price. It worked great straight out of the box but I did insert disk for drivers "just in case" and did run into a small problem when windows said installation failed but then Vista went right out to the internet and found the correct drivers and smooth sailing from then on. Now I can come and go from my desk with my laptop without having to plug & unplug everything each time ... just 1 vga/usb combo cord. Oh ... it IS vista 64 bit compatible and has it's own power supply. Glad I bought when I did, I see price has jumped almost 20.00 from what I paid just 10 days ago ... but it is definitely worth it!!!!!

(More customer reviews)I bought this router to be able to add wired connections to my Apple Airport Express. It worked using bridge mode but it is far from ideal. It occasionally will drop all connections if there is a lot of data going through it. I think this is probably a firmware issue since it never happened with my airport express alone. Also the data rate seems to have dropped - I used to get 30Mbps when my computer was connected via ethernet to my cable modem directly, and around 25Mbps when using my Airport Express alone, but now it has dropped to around 9-10Mbps. It's still enough for my needs but I really expected better from D-link. After an online search it appears that many people with this router are having the same issues, so I don't think it's just because this one is refurbished. I picked this up for $15 so I don't feel too bad about it but in retrospect I would probably have gone for a different router. Not recommended.

D-Link DWA-552 Xtreme N Wireless PCI Adapter Review

It took me a long time to really get a good handle on this cards performance and I have had it now for about 3 months. While the router that accompanies this adapter is the best wireless router I have ever used, I have found this PCI adapter to be just okay.
While it does it's job pretty well, it absolutely did not impress me as an "Extreme-N" PCI adapter. Let me say a little about my setup. I have the DLink Extreme N router upstairs and the PC that has this adapter in it sits on the floor and is almost directly across the house but downstairs (proably around 40-50 feet away and through about 4 walls at about -30 degrees). Windows thinks that it has a 300Mbps connection, but the included DLink software drivers can calculate the actual connection speed and it seems to fluctuate from anywhere from 2mbps and 108mbps (usually is around 32Mbps). The average throughput I usually get is around 60Mbps (which is around 7-8 megabytes a second...since you divide Mbps (Megabits) by 8bits to get Megabytes). If you dont know about the extreme-n router, I have a review on that too, but quickly its a gigabit router so it handle 1000Mbps (125 megabytes/sec) if you are using a wire, so there is no bottleneck within the router. I usually see around a 60% connection on the N network whereas my Centrino laptop in the same position gets around an 80% connection off of the "G" network that the router also transmits.
Although I am a little annoyed at the connection and throughput speeds, I am most annoyed at the fact that at the time of this review (5/2007) this PCI adapter is COMPLETELY and UTTERLY useless for Windows Vista. My Vista kept crashing (im talking a HARD crash...complete lockup of the computer, hard reset needed, after only 5-10 minutes past the boot-up process...consistently), and I tried to figure out why. I spoke to MS Customer service thinking that since Vista was so new, that there was a problem on their end. Together we figured out that it was this card that kept crashing the computer. After we disabled and removed the card from the system, it stopped crashing (I even tried to make it crash, but it was rock solid). The drivers I used were specifically labled Beta Vista Drivers, so until the drivers are out of the Beta phase, I wouldn't trust them. Since my house isnt yet wired for ethernet, and putting the wireless modem in that room would make my wireless network quite useless, I have a $250 piece of software (vista) just sitting on my shelf.
Anyways, if you are just using Windows XP, this should work out fine, not spectactular, not horrible...still better than the "G" networks (I will WAY outperform them if you are not as far from the router as I am) But not as spectacular as I hoped (Based on how spectacular the 655 router is).

(More customer reviews)The SPA3102 gives you both an FXS port (for a phone) and an FXO port (for a phone line), it's two devices in one box. Each device can operate independently or can be made to interact with the other. It's great for a start-up VoIP system where you want to have one phone and access to one phone line from the PSTN. Be aware that this is NOT a device that is made for plug and play. You have to know what you are doing. It is an extremely flexible device with MANY options. Which means it can be overwhelming to a beginner. A lot of the options can be left at default but you still need a basic (at least) understanding of networking, SIP and VoIP to get this working with a provider or VoIP PBX. If you know what you are doing, this unit can be up and running in 10 minutes, otherwise you'd better have a lot of patience.
This unit is the successor to the SPA3000, first released by Sipura, which was bought by Linksys, then Cisco. they added a few more features upgraded firmware AND a router. Most people will already have a router on their system and will probably just disable this feature and use the second Ethernet jack in bridge mode allowing a second device to be plugged in, saving a port on your router or switch.
All in all a great unit, but not made for the inexperienced, do some research if you aren't quite sure if this is for you, there is a lot of info on line

Cisco-Linksys WRT310N Refurb Wireless-N Gigabit Router Review

(More customer reviews)I ordered two of these routers to set up as repeaters in my house. Both routers came very quickly and both routers were in really good condition when I received them. Neither router came with any documentation except for a piece of paper explaining the limited warranty, however, both routers still looked brand new. They do come with a set-up CD, however, the CD is not required if you are familiar with wireless LAN's.
I've flashed both routers with DD-WRT which was very simple to do, and they are both working flawlessly. I didn't even bother using them with the native firmware. DD-WRT all the way!
They do run HOT. I've stuck a pencil under the back end of the router on my desk to see if that helps the air circulate under it a bit better.
I highly recommend this router, especially flashed with DD-WRT firmware.

I express caution with regard to critical purposes such as servers and IP telephony; we have experienced some weird problems with this. We have three (Netgear FS608 v2) in two locations; two connected to a 24 port Dell switch and the third I think connects to a Cisco 3524. They may intermittently refuse to forward frames from just one source to just one destination while allowing frames from that same source to other destination, weird stuff like that. Reset takes a power cycle OR just unplug the uplink cable and reconnect. It's a real nuisance if it means you have to drive to work on a weekend or an IP telephone call goes "blip" into la-la land. I'm sure they have a limitation on the size of the MAC address cache but I have not so far researched it. Beware using little switches on big networks! (That sounds like a grade b movie title!)
