(More customer reviews)Routers usually come with one serial WIC, so if you have an extra expansion slot, this is great. Advanced lab configurations like Frame-Relay, OSPF, EIGRP require back to back, or point to point connections which require two serial ports. This module does not require a DTE/DCE V.35 cable (costly). It connects via a standard RJ45 T1 cable. (pins 1-4, 2-5), which you can make yourself. The CSU/DSU also provides its own clock, so the clockrate command is not needed. Installation is a breeze.
