(More customer reviews)Apparently compatibility specs with windows on fax-modems are with regard to the data portion of the modem and not necessarily the fax side. The modem would send faxes w/out problems. However, it failed to detect a ringing phone to receive a fax unattended. All was ok if someone was always around to tell the modem when to start receiving, but that's not what we were looking for in a fax machine replacement. So I can't speak to the data operability of this modem, but if you're looking for fax, I'd look elsewhere.
