I was only getting 9 Mbps on my old clunker with a 12Mbps subscription, you need to re register the new MAC with your ISP and power off ALL Network connected devices and PC's for it to start working. I paid under Thirty USD for a refurbished unit and it looks like new, I don't think I would have gotten anymore speed out of a Docsis 3 modem at over 3 times the price. No problems on my network which feeds the internet to 3 Windows PC's + Ooma and a Wii
