As computers advance, you see less RS232 ports available in a typical PC. You may need these ports for various tasks, such as connecting card readers, elder hardware, etc. To make situation even worse, computer manufacturers limit amount of available PCI slots, so you can't just plug in extension card. Only choice is to get PCI-E RS232 card, which is still quite uncommon.
The card reviewed has 2 external and 2 internal slots, which means, that besides the external devices, you can connect also internal devices to it, such as card readers. Previous reviewer complains that there was no information how to connect internal connectors correctly. This is wrong. If you look at PCB, you'll see small white triangle near the each connector. This is the marking, where the red stripe on connection cable should be matching. This is rule of thumb in PC world for last 20 years at least, so if you need such a specific device, than you should know also connection pinouts.
The driver installation went OK, and card itself works properly.
